Dining at the Inn • Rates & Directions Located between Blue Hill and Acadia National Park, the Surry Inn welcomes you to gracious waterfront lodging. Join us this year to celebrate our 25th anniversary.
This gracious farmhouse on sprawling grounds provides comfortable, friendly accommodations and exceptional dining to visitors as did the original inn in days of yesteryear. Built in 1834, the Inn provided lodging for stage and steamship passengers. Your hosts, Peter and Annelise Krinsky, provide gracious and friendly innkeeping and superb, contemporary dining in a spectacular waterfront setting. The Inn is strategically located to take advantage of all this beautiful area has to offer. The Blue Hill/Deer Isle Peninsula, Acadia National Park, the Schoodic Peninsula and points further Downeast. Visit the many artists' galleries and antique shops in Blue Hill and Deer Isle. Or hike on Isle au Haut, one of the beautiful islands that dot the coast, by hopping the mail boat from Stonington just 40 minutes away. We're close enough to Acadia National Park for easy access yet far enough from the crowds to relax at night" Spend a day just relaxing on our premises. The expansive grounds have shore walks and a beach with the warmest saltwater bathing in the area. Relax on the beach, read on the lawn, or go for a spin in the rowboat or canoe. You can put-in kayaks from our beach to paddle on quiet Contention Cove or venture further out to explore pristine Patten Bay. Later in the day, enjoy cocktails on the lawn or from the 60 foot glassed-in porch overlooking the Cove.

The Inn offers eight rooms, six with private bath and many with water views. There are several spacious sitting areas.

After a busy day exploring downeast Maine, enjoy superb cuisine in our lovely, intimate dining room. With a view of Contention Cove and spectacular sunsets for backdrop, dine on: Steak au Poivre Bordelaise; lobster and corn cakes (an award-winning dish); veal scallops sautéed with balsamic vinegar, sundried tomato, and pine nuts; local sea scallops pan-seared with almonds and mango; sautéed duck breast with a savory sauce of wild blueberries, and many other delicious entrees. Dining at the Inn All soups, sauces, dressings, desserts, and entrees are homemade and are based on the freshest ingredients. Directions to The Surry Inn From the south: Follow Route 1 north. 7 miles north of Bucksport, turn right onto Route 176 and follow it to its end. Turn left onto Route 172 (Surry Road) and you'll find the inn on your right in 2.5 miles. From the north: Follow Route 1 south. From Ellsworth veer left onto Route 172. Follow it approximately 5 miles to find the inn on your left. We are located 30 miles from Bangor International Airport and only 13 miles from the Bar Harbor Airport in Trenton.
